Data Policy
This Data Policy (“ Data Policy ”) is additional to Terms of Service (“Terms”) and among from is applicable to third parties (“Hosts”) who offer services (“ Host Services ”) to Yupe’s registered users (“Members”) that are seeking to book such Host Services (Members using Host Services are “Guests”). Therefore, any obligations provided hereunder for Hosts are additional to those provided under the Terms or other related guidelines, policies, terms and law and in no manner can be interpreted as exclusionary.
This Data Policy constitutes a legally binding agreement ("Agreement") between you and Yupe (as defined below) governing your access to and use of the Yupe website, including any subdomains thereof, and any other websites through which Yupe makes its services available (collectively, "Site"), our mobile, tablet and other smart device applications, and application program interfaces (collectively, "Application") and all associated services (collectively, "Yupe Services"). The Site, Application and Yupe Services together are hereinafter collectively referred to as the “ Yupe Platform ”.
When this Data Policy mentions “Yupe,” “we,” “us,” or “our,” it refers to the Yupe company you are contracting with. Please keep in mind that Yupe company may be referred to as the “Data Controller” herein.
The words commencing with an initial but not defined herein shall have the meaning ascribed to them under the Terms of Service.
1. Introduction
Thank you for using Yupe! Your trust is important to us, as it is a fundamental aspect of how we provide our services, and we’re committed to protect it, by protecting the privacy and security of your personal information.
The information that’s obtained from you helps us to maximize the quality of our service, and thus your experience with Yupe.
This Data Policy designates how we collect, use, process, and disclose your personal information, in connection with your access to and use of the Yupe Platform and the Yupe Services.
Please read this Data Policy in order to clearly find out how we collect and use your personal data, and your rights in relation to Yupe’s use of the same.
2. Applicability to Payment Services
This Data Policy also applies to the Payment Services provided to you by Yupe pursuant to the Payments Terms of Service (“Payments Terms”). When using the Payment Services, you will be also providing your information, including personal information, payment entities Yupe is engaged with, which will also be the data controller (the " Payments Data Controller ") of your information related to the Payment Services.

3. What Personal Data is Collected?
In order for us to process your booking we will ask you for certain information, such as your name, your email address, your payment information and booking details. Below you may find elaborate explanations in connection with the personal data collected:
As you visit or use Yupe Services, we collect the following categories of personal information directly from you:
Ø Account Information: When you sign up to Yupe, you will be asked certain information, which is obligatory for us to provide Yupe Services. Such information includes your first name, last name, email address,, date of birth, profile picture and phone number.
In addition to that, we have to keep your username, password, your settings preferences (e.g. language, currency and distance units.) at our databases once you sign up. Should you choose to provide information regarding your account such as gender, preferred language(s), city, and a personal description, please kindly note that such additional information will be stored as well. This provision be valid when you update or add information to your Yupe account as well.
To use certain Yupe Services, we may ask you to provide additional information, which may include your address, phone number, and a profile picture as well.
Ø Identity Verification Information: On certain occasions, in order to protect Yupe’s secure environment, you may be asked to provide identity verification information (such as images of your government issued ID, passport, national ID card, or driving license, as permitted by applicable laws) or other authentication information, which will be kept at our databases.
Ø Booking Details: Your name, email address, nationality, gender, mobile number and your payment details as well as your trips and when and where you go through them.
Ø Communications with Yupe and other Members: When you communicate with Yupe or use the Yupe Platform to communicate with other Members, we collect information about your communication.
You may also choose to provide us information when you fill in a form, participate in promotions, respond to surveys, share your experience with us, or use other features of the Yupe Platform.
Ø Address Book Contact Information: You may choose to import your address book contacts or enter your contacts’ information manually to access certain features of the Yupe Platform, like inviting them to use Yupe. In addition, you may opt to integrate your social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc.) with Yupe. In the event you choose to integrate your social media accounts to Yupe, your personal information thereunder may be collected by Yupe.
Ø Payment Information: For using certain features of the Yupe Platform (such as booking or creating a listing), additional financial information may be needed (like your bank account or credit card information) for facilitating the processing of payments.
Ø Location Data: Collect information on your actual location, and process information on your actual location, IP address, Wireless access points, base stations.
Ø If you are a Host: The Payments Data Controller may require identity verification information (such as images of your government issued ID, passport, national ID card, or driving license) or other authentication information, your date of birth, your address, email address, phone number and other information in order to verify your identity, provide the Payment Services to you, and to comply with applicable law. In addition to that, Yupe requires Hosts to share their bank account information, in order to make necessary fund transfers to them in relation to a booked listing.
Ø Other information you may provide: Including other information you provide about yourself or others through Yupe Services or to which you provide us with access via third-party platforms.
Ø How You Interact with our Site : We record details about how you use our websites and mobile apps, like the date, time and location of your visit, what pages you visit, how long you stay on the pages, where you have clicked on a page, and details of any crashes or system bugs you might encounter.
Ø How You Got Here : Where we can, we record how you arrived on our website (e.g. from a search engine, or by clicking on one of our adverts).
Ø Cookies and Similar Technologies : We use cookies and other similar technologies when you use our platform or engage with our online ads or email communications. We may collect certain information by automated means using technologies such as cookies, web beacons, pixels, browser analysis tools, server logs, and mobile identifiers. In many cases the information we collect using cookies and other tools is only used in a non-identifiable without reference to personal information. For example, we may use information we collect to better understand website traffic patterns and to optimize our website experience. In some cases we associate the information we collect using cookies and other technology with your personal information.
Ø Device Details : As described below, we collect information from and about the computers, phones and other web-connected devices you use that integrate with Yupe, and we combine this information across different devices you use. For example, we use information collected about your use of Yupe on your phone to better personalize the content (including ads) or features you see when you use Yupe on another device, such as your laptop or tablet, or to measure whether you took an action in response to an ad we showed you on your phone on a different device.
Ø Device attributes: information such as the operating system, hardware and software versions, signal strength, available storage space, browser type, app and file names and types, and plugins.
Ø Identifiers: unique identifiers, device IDs, and other identifiers.
Ø Device signals: Bluetooth signals, and information about nearby Wi-Fi access points, beacons, and cell towers.
Ø Data from device settings: information you allow us to receive through device settings you turn on, such as access to your GPS location, camera or photos.
Ø Network and connections: information such as the name of your mobile operator or internet service provider, language, time zone, mobile phone number, IP address.

Ø Property - If there are any issues with your stay at a property, the Host might contact us with information about the issue.
Ø Advertisements - When we work with third parties to display advertisements we may use technologies like cookies or pixel tags to record details of your interaction with those advertisements. This data is sometimes sent to us through cookies and pixel tags that are set on our behalf by those third parties.
We may receive information about you and your activities on and off the Yupe Platform through partnerships, or about your experiences and interactions from our partner ad networks.
4. Information You Are Required to Provide
If you want to make a reservation, you will need to provide us with the information required on the payment page. If you do not provide us with this information, we will not be able to process your reservation.
5. How Do We Use Your Information?
We may use the personal information to provide, improve, and develop the Yupe Platform.
· provide you to access and use the Yupe Platform,
· provide you to communicate with other Members,
· operate, protect, improve, and optimize the Yupe Platform and experience, such as by performing analytics and conducting research,
· provide customer service,
· send you service or support messages, updates, security alerts, and account notifications.
· Authenticate your account credentials and identify you , as necessary to log you in to the Services and ensure the security of your account.
· Process your payment information.
We process this personal information for these purposes given our legitimate interest in improving the Yupe Platform and our Members’ experience with it, and where it is necessary for the adequate performance of the contract with you.

5.Who do we share your personal data with?
Where we think that there is a risk to your health or wellbeing, we may share your personal data with third parties in order to get you help (e.g. we might be asked to assist with locating a missing person). We may also receive requests from law enforcement agencies for personal data that we hold. In such circumstances we will only share your personal data with such law enforcement agencies in compliance with data protection law.

We retain your personal data in accordance with our record retention policy. The record retention policy operates on the principle that we keep personal data for no longer than is necessary for the purpose for which we collected it, and in accordance with any requirements that are imposed on us by law.
